素晴らしき悪魔のような樽前山

雲が抜け、煙を噴き出す溶岩ドームが現れるといよいよ樽前山らしい姿がお目見えだ。

プリンのような形をした溶岩ドームは高さ134mの円頂丘で、粘度の高い溶岩が溢れずに盛り上がって形成されたもの。

まるで悪魔の瞳のような箇所からは今も噴煙が確認できる。

いつか悪魔が目を覚ますならば、手と足が生えて立ち上がってみてほしいと想像してしまう、そんなファンタジックな山だった。

The magnificent, devilish Mount Tarumae

As the clouds part and the smoke-spewing lava dome comes into view, Mount Tarumae finally reveals its true form. Mount Tarumae, devilish in appearance. The pudding-shaped lava dome is a 134-meter-high dome-shaped hill formed when highly viscous lava rose without overflowing. Plumes of smoke can still be seen rising from a spot resembling the devil’s eye. It was such a fantastical mountain that I couldn’t help imagining: if the devil ever awakens, I hope it grows hands and feet and stands up.
